The superb kitchens are overseen by head chef Michel de Matteis, who is a winner of numerous awards and was previously employed at several Michelin-starred restaurants across France. A bed and breakfast option is also available for guests. La Goelette La Goelette is the hotels main restaurant with panoramic views across the bay, serving breakfast and gourmet creole and international cuisine. Dress code: elegant, smart casual clothes are required for dining in the evening. Open between 0730 - 1000 and 1930 to 2230. Seats 80. Le Bar Plage The perfect beachfront setting for lunch. All of the the tables are set on wooden decking under the shade of a huge Badamier tree. The delicious menu includes light snacks and a selection of chef's salads made using local produce. Open for lunch between 12:30 - 17:00. Seats 60. Natureaty Restaurant Lighter meals are served at the intimate Natureaty Restaurant, located in a stunning spot at the ocean's edge. Everything about the restaurant is open plan, from the kitchen itself to two fabulous terraces for dining under the stars. Open between 19:30 - 22:00. Closed Sundays. Seats 35. Private Dining - Guests may also enjoy the informal elegance of private dining on their balcony or terrace. Nothing could be more enjoyable than a leisurely breakfast or romantic dinner at a table laid exclusively for you and served by a personal waiter. For small family parties there's also the option of dining at the Captain's Table. Royal Palm SpaThe beautiful spa at the Royal Palm is set within the gardens . Tranquil indoor and outdoor spaces are centred around a main pool with dedicated cabins for Reiki, Thai massage and Ayurvedic treatments. The spa is currently under refurbishment and is set for an exciting re-opening in early Dec 2007. In the meantime treatments are offered in especially built luxurious cabins. Royal Palm Children's Club All Beachcomber hotels have a free Bob Marlin Mini Club which welcomes children aged 3 - 12 years 7 days a week. The Royal Palm Children's Club is open from 0900 to 2300 daily. The clubs are run by qualified professionals who provide fun and educational indoor and outdoor activities to keep your little ones entertained and happy. Every day there is a set activities programme which you can dip in and out of, if you also want to spend some family time together during the day. ActivitiesUnlike other holiday destinations and hotels at all of the Beachcomber hotels many of the land and water sports are free for guests - including water-skiing. Land Sports The Royal Palm has 3 floodlit tennis courts (artificial grass, Head tennis rackets are complimentary however tennis balls will need to be purchased), a squash court, table tennis and bocciball which are all complimentary to guests. Mountain bikes are available for hire. Gym Guests may make use of the gymnasium which has machines, free weights and is located close to the spa. Water Sports Gentle, inviting waters make Mauritius a perfect destination for water activities - water-skiing, windsurfing, glass bottom boat trips, snorkelling trips, kayaks and pedal boats are complimentary for guests. A Royal Palm speed boat is available for hire - a day trip with picnic out to the near-by islands is a great day out. Deep Sea Fishing In season Mauritius offers superb deep sea fishing our partner fishing charters are located just 10 minutes drive from the hotel and offer half and full day trips on fully equiped specialist fishing boats (including quality tackle and bait).
