Set in 36 acres of grounds with over a mile of long white coral sand beach fringing a shallow lagoon. Near the village of Flic-en-Flac on the west coast, the hotel is about one hour from the airport.

Accommodation

Cosy and full of warmth, the one-floor individual cottages nestle amid colourful splashes of hibiscus and frangipani in the 14 hectares palm-grove and open privately on the garden and the Indian Ocean. They are grouped in small villages laid out in an arc. Each cottage houses one Superior or two Standard guest-rooms. There are also two Royal Suites, each in a more spacious cottage of its own.

Standard Rooms There are 200 Standard guest-rooms of 25 m2 each, some communicating, which is ideal for families. Bathed in light and warmth, with fragrant frangipani flowers delicately disposed here and there and ceiling fans with large blades of marine wood.

Superior Rooms The 46 Superior guest-rooms, of 35 m2 each, are grouped in small villages immediately fronting the Indian Ocean. Each can accommodate a family of four (provided the two children are under twelve years of age) thanks to a sofa-bed or two convertible armchairs.

The Royal Suites Located in the northern part of the resort, the two 78-m2 Royal Suites: Bougainvillaea and Flamboyant, each occupy a larger cottage. At once very private, with their own private garden, and close to the heart of the resort, they open onto the palm-grove and the sea. They have a large bedroom and separate lounge and dining-room. The terrace offers a privileged upfront view of the magnificent beach and crystal-clear sea.

Facilities

Facilities include kayaks, water-skiing, lasers, snorkelling, windsurfing, glass-bottom-boat tours and surfvision. At the immense swimming-pool, moreover, guests can partake in aquagym. All these activities are free of charge.
Also worth discovering, subject to extra charge: undersea walks, parasailing, big-game fishing, scuba-diving, Super Tube, and towed banana-boat rides.
There's also tennis, a fitness centre (at Sugar Beach Resort), mini-golf and The One & Only Touessrok Golf Course on a separate island just across the bay welcomes guests and offers preferential fees.

In La Pirogue’s Fun Kids Club, the guests’ younger children have their very own paradise. The Club welcomes children aged 2 to 11 years for fantastic and unforgettable holidays at no extra charge. Teenagers have their own Club too, which fulfils their expectations with dynamic and cheerful activities commensurate with their tastes and wishes.

The main restaurant, Thatches, overlooks the swimming pool and serves buffet-style breakfast, lunchtime pizzas and pasta and themed dinners and barbecues.
Paul & Virginie à la carte restaurant (charge) serving grills, seafood and Mauritian specialities, there is also a choice of bars and snacks and afternoon tea poolside plus a beach restaurant. Nightly entertainment includes live bands / shows.
Optional All Inclusive includes all meals; full breakfast, lunch and table d'hote dinner at main restaurants (set menu or buffet). A choice of four restaurants including two a la carte are available between the two resorts. All drinks available from a choice of five bars at La Pirogue or Sugar Beach Resort: local spirits, beers, cocktails, house wine with lunch and dinner and soft drinks consumed at either resort and including the minibar (except champagne).
