Le Canonnier is set on a great location at the tip of a small peninsula overlooking a number of islets.  The site includes an ancient lighthouse, the ruins of a fortress and several old cannons and is just 5 minutes drive from bustling Grand Baie.

Accommodation

The rooms at Le Canonnier are beautifully appointed and furnished with neutral colours and natural woods.  All of the rooms have a private terrace or balcony and either overlook the tropical gardens or the Indian Ocean.

All rooms apartments and suites include: Private bathroom with bathtub (no bathtub in Standard Rooms), shower and W.C, minibar, safe, hairdryer, international direct dialling telephone, television with satellite channels, complimentary tea & coffee facilities.

Restaurants and Bars

Le Canonnier offers dining at two superb restaurants and has a great bar which serves snacks through the day.  Guest also have the chance to interdine at the restaurants at Le Mauricia although from time to time these restaurants may be for the sole use of Le Mauricia guests.

Meal Plan: breakfast and evening meal. Dinner is either buffet or table d'hote in selected restaurants only with a la carte dishes available at a supplement. An All-In-One all inclusive option is aslo available. Occassionally a restaurant may close for a group booking.

Le Frangipanier

Surrounded by coconut palms, Le Frangipanier has a memorable tropical setting. This is the hotel's main restaurant and serves an American style buffet breakfast. In the evening there is a choice of themed buffets. Dress code in the daytime is casual and in the evening is smart casual. Breakfast is served 0730 - 1000, lunch 1230 - 1500 and dinner 1830 - 2130. Le Navigateur

An elegant restaurant housed in an old colonial building. Enjoy lunch or dinner with views out to sea and across to the northern islets. Dress code in the daytime is casual and in the evening is smart casual. A la carte lunch from 1230 – 1500 and dinner by reservation only between 1830 – 2100. Seats 120

Planteur Bar - Centred in the gardens, Le Planteur has a relaxed, tropical atmosphere. Serves drinks and snacks during the day. Open from 0930 – 2330

Le Navigateur Bar - Bar open from 1030 – 0200. Put on your dancing shoes because at 2330, Le Navigateur becomes a dance floor!

Wellness Centre

Le Canonnier has a fantastic Wellness Centre, which is built in and around the branches of a huge, ancient Banyan Tree.  It offers a number of relaxing massage treatments and does offer a double massage cabin.

Bob Marlin Mini Club

All Beachcomber hotels have a free Bob Marlin Mini Club which welcomes children aged 3 - 12.  Le Canonnier's miniclub is open from 9am - 9pm, 7 days a week and is housed in an ancient lighthouse.

The clubs are run by qualified professionals who provide fun and educational indoor and outdoor activities to keep your little ones entertained and happy.

Every day there is a set activities programme which you can dip in and out of, if you also want to spend some family time together during the day.

Unlike other holiday destinations and hotels at all of the Beachcomber hotels many of the land and water sports are free for guests - including water-skiing.

Land Sports

Le Canonnier offers 3 floodlit tennis courts (hard court, Head tennis racket hire is complimentary however tennis balls will need to be purchased), table tennis, volley ball, bocciball and archery which are all complimentary for guests.  Mountain bikes are also available for hire.

Gym

The hotel does not have a gym, however, guests are free to use the facilities at Le Mauricia - a 5 minute taxi ride from the hotel.

Watersports

Gentle, inviting waters make Mauritius a perfect destination for water activities  - waterskiing, windsurfing, sailing, glass bottom boat trips, snorkelling trips, kayaks and pedal boats are all complimentary for guests.  The hotel also offers free weekly group sailing and windsurfing lessons.

Deep Sea Fishing
In season Mauritius offers superb deep sea fishing. There is a fishing charter company just 10 minutes from Le Victoria. The charters offer half and full day trips on fully equipped specialist fishing boats (including quality tackle and bait).

Diving
Le Canonnier has an on-site PADI affiliated Dive Centre with a comprehensive diving programme. There are a number of decent dive sites within 20 minutes boat ride of the hotel - a day dive costs approximately £25 per dive.

Mauritius All Inclusive Holiday at Le Canonnier

Although Le Canonnier is based on a halfboard basis the hotel does offer guests the chance to upgrade to an All-In-One All Inclusive basis. The all inclusive benefits at Le Canonnier commence from check-in time 1400 and end on check out time 1100. All-In-One all inclusive option includes:
